Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune was granted the status of Deemed-to-be-University under
Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 on 11th January 2003. It comprises of Medical College, Dental College, Nursing College, College of Physiotherapy, Institute of Optometry and Visual Sciences, Institute of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Global Business School, Centre for Online Learning, Ayurved College, Homoeopathic Medical College, School of Design, School of Liberal Arts, School of Allied Health Sciences and School of Science and Technology.
The Vidyapeeth has been accredited (3rd Cycle) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a CGPA of 3.64 on four-point scale with ‘A++’ grade. Under National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, conducted by the Ministry of Education, the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune has achieved 5th rank in DentalCategory, 11th rank in Medical Category and 44th in University Category in India. The Vidyapeeth is also declared as Category – I University by UGC under Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018. Recently, in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 in the band of 1001-1200 and ranked 267th in ‘Teaching Metric’ worldwide.
