The Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) is the 8th Constituent Institution of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. It has been established keeping in mind the needs of the modern learning community, so that they can be equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills that are demanded by the industry today.
Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, was accorded the status of University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, vide Notification No. F.9-39/2001-U.3 dated 11th January 2003 of the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, New Delhi, and (ii) Notification No.F6-9/2003 (CPP-I) dated 24/01/2003 by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
